The State Museum at present has several galleries which display different
aspects of cultural heritage, especially those related to the state of Jharkhand.
We have galleries separately classified in order to display the anthropological
features, especially those related to the tribal way of life. The sculptural
section has art objects representing different sculptural styles and iconographic
manifestations. Potteries and other artifacts received from archaeological
excavation and so on.
The mission of the State Library is to provide information
services and ac-cess to bibliographic and full text digital
and printed resources to support the scholarly and
informational needs of the community. The State Mu-seum
Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources
in the form of CD-ROMs, books, journals, patents, standards,
theses, reports, monographs etc. The State Museum also
invites you to visit the library in order to enjoy the wealth
of printed resources available on it shelves.
1. While entering the library, readers are not allowed to carry their personal belongings (bags, brief-cases, parcels etc.) except laptops and they are allowed to carry eatable items (biscuits, cookies, fruits, chocolates, cold drinks, tea/ coffee, etc.). Their belongings should be deposited at the security counter.
2. Use of cell phone and smoking inside the library is strictly prohibited.
3. Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library material in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged with the full replacement cost of damaged material and it may lead to suspension of library account and they may be barred from entering the library.
4. Readers leaving the library should allow the library/security staff to examine their personal belongings.
